Videos on Current Crisis to be Archived

I’ve been provided an analysis by a friend in the tech industry who has a firm that performs advanced analytics on social media and particularly YouTube .

This analysis has led me to the very reluctant decision to archive all videos related to SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19. While the videos themselves are not inflammatory in nature, I’m now convinced the topic itself may have enormous volatility regarding the algorithms YT makes use of (at least at this time).

I can’t discuss him or his firm’s methodology beyond this (and had him sign off on this language before posting).

Comments are turned off for the video announcing this because they can also impact these variables, but you can comment here at this blog post.

You are archiving your own videos or all videos from everybody?

I have complete faith that if you’re doing this, you’re doing it for a good reason, so that’s not a question in my mind.

I do wonder, however, what this means regarding folks being able to continue hearing your thoughts about the current crisis. Put another way, will you be going “radio silent” on this topic?

In other words, doing this is a way of not doing Covid-19-related algorithmic violence to your channel?

So disheartening. Time to find our tribe and keep the free flow of information flowing. Thank you for your smarts, vision and perseverance, Dave.

I am very sorry to hear this. I also have very grave concerns about censorship of this information (opinion pieces) on this topic or any other. I feel that is more frightening than the implications of the virus itself. Extremely disturbing.

Anything that goes against the WHO, the CDC or I am guessing zukerbergs buddy Bill Gates does not meet “community guidelines, In otherwords stifle that independent thinking. I got a strike amd a week off for thinking I should have the choice of trying Hydroxychloroqinine even ,after what the phony vet study showed.jphnson paul
