Diet: Migration from SAD through LCHF through ZC to current WFAB (whole foods animal based, pasture raised beef, eggs, cheese, creme; wild caught salmon, sardines, herring, ~50g whey/casein protein powder, 1 sq (8g) Trader Joe’s dark chocolate); coffee.

Hey Mark, interesting numbers, thanks for sharing. I see very similar results on a very similar journey (SAD – LC – Paleo – keto – to currently mostly carnivore) from 2015 to now.
TC: 235 – 309 – 350 – 450
HDL: 63 – 87 – 92 – 98
LDL: 152 – 209 – 241 – 339
Trig: 101 – 64 – 94 – 88
active, BMI ~15%, no drugs
I should have noted above that both readings are on no drugs. Did a year of PCSK9i, and a couple years on a statin inbetween, and never felt worse in my life. “Great” numbers though (LDL 26, TC 80) but high fasting insulin, no energy, weight gain. So glad for Dave’s, Siobhan’s, and many others’ work.
Thanks for sharing Mark 🙂 your TC made me feel normal, I was shocked when my CardioChek Home returned “>400” as I basically went beyond the measurable limit.

https://imgur.com/a/PFA8I3h These tests are from 2015. Before starting LCHF (mostly meat based) I only remember that my total cholesterol was 206 and that I should be concerned.
Sorry I forgot to say I have been LCHF for six years now
Just completed the survey. Think I may have made an error in the year of second blood work. It was 8/26/2016 (not 8/26/2017).
1 LCHF for 1 year

3 TC 225 HDL 57 LDL 153 Tri 73
I have been low carb for over 23 years. Started to eat less before blood work thinking that would help bring numbers down, and I as I know now that was a mistake. My prior blood work 3/1/2017 (8 hr fast)
Chol – 292 / HDL – 56 / Tri – 70 / LDL – 222
My most recent after 3 days of over 3000 cals a day (13 hour fast)
Chol – 225 / HDL – 70 / Tri – 58 / LDL – 141
I can’t believe it, to cool. I do wonder though if it would be even better if I had not replaced coffee with Tea? What do you think?
I just took the survey.
My most recent cholesterol test are from August this year and the prior was from September of 2017.
All during 2017 and all of 2016 I had been doing a keto lifestyle with 20gr of net carbs per day. I incorporated intermittent fasting on 2017 and was part of my lifestyle when I had the blood test in September of 2017.
I had stayed mostly low carb from the beginning of 2018 until I started the carnivore diet on June 6, 2018. I had been on the carnivore diet for 8 weeks when I had my most recent lab work including cholesterol.
Here are the results side by side:
2017: 2018:
Total C: 179 247
HDL C: 58 63
LDLC: 112 170
TRIGLYCERIDES: 46 68
Any opinions on what role Omega 3s play in cholesterol levels?
Omega-3’s lower Trig and raise HDL. This presumably leads to less insulin resistance and more large fluffy LDL (fewer particles, larger particles) because its easier for the liver to export Trig with Omega-3’s and for cells to gobble them up than to convert carb sugars into saturated fat trig and export as VLDL -> sdLDL, which hang around much longer.
